"Atlas da Boca," a play directed and created by Gaya de Medeiros, featuring performance and co-creation by Ary Zara, is an exploration by two transgender bodies regarding the mouth as a point of connection between language, identity, voice, public and private spheres, as well as eroticism and politics. Through dance, it engages in a discussion of this symbolic space capable of establishing new narratives, exploring the entries that open from the mouth outward and are read from the mouth inward.

"Atlas da Boca" was recognized by the Expresso newspaper as one of the best performances of 2011. It was presented at the Aerowaves Spring Forward 2022, held in the city of Elefsina, Greece. Aerowaves is the most important European network supporting emerging contemporary dance, with the Centro Cultural Vila Flor as a presenting partner.
