One night, two shows. The dance company, Dançando com a Diferença, will join forces with the choreographers, François Chaignaud and Tânia Carvalho, to present the shows “Blasons” and “Doesdicon”. In “Blasons”, by François Chaignaud, the company’s dancers will try to recover the dynamics of the coat of arms, and invert it. The dancers are no longer the strange, magnificent or curious bodies that we observe and crutinise. Instead they offer to show us their way of emblazoning the world. The creation of a coat of arms thus becomes an act of empowerment, which enables us to recover the legitimacy of perception. In the work, “Doesdicon” (an anagram of the word ‘escondido’ (hidden)), conceived by Tânia Carvalho, fixed movements are liberated. Created in 2017, and now performed at GUIdance, “Doesdicon” is
an enigmatic creation, inspired by the performers’ bodies, which aims to reveal things that are often hidden.
